CHARITY

Heart of Kent Hospice - £4001.10

We raised just over £4,000 for the Heart of Kent Hospice in October 2021. This was in loving memory of my Nan who passed in September 2021. This charity is close to my family’s hearts, and this is where my inspiring Nan spent her last few days on this planet with us.

The staff here cared and provided us with all the time in the world to spend with Nan, and say our final farewells. I wanted to do something in return for this love and care, so other families can recieve just as much support with their loved ones.

With the amazing flight simulator community behind me, I wanted to dedicate not only an entire month of Twitch earnings, but to fly between my Nan’s two favourite countries in the Queen of the skies (Boeing 747-400); Finland and Canada. Cross The Pond Eastbound gave me this perfect oppotunity at the end of October 2021 to fly out of Toronto, Canada over to Helsinki in Finland; both countires that my Nan has visited and cherished with my Grandad. This was the biggest stream I have ever completed, and we had over 6,000 unique individuals tuning in and showing their support along the way. I custom painted a retro Air Canada B747-400 with elephants dedicated to her twin daughters (my Mum & Auntie) and her 4 grand children (Alice, Victoria, Me and Bradley). It got emotional at the end, but my whole family came on stream at the end and was overwhelmed by the donations and communities support, and I was and still am so proud to have this oppotunity to give back.

I initially set up a JustGiving link for people to help donate money for The Heart of Kent Hospice; my original goal of just £100. This was quickly reached after just 10 minutes of going live on 1st October! Then £250, £500, £1000, £2000, £3000 and we ended up with a total figure of £4001.10 (including Gift-Aid). Incredible. I would love to raise a lot more money for charities close to not only mine but other peoples heart’s. After all, were all living on this planet together; so let’s make it a better place for all!

MIND Mental Health - £812.26

In February 2024, I took part in the ‘Bottom to Top’ SimFest event. I wanted to choose a charity which would be fitting for the event, and mental health instantly came to mind, where charities like MIND, can help take people going through a tough time at rock bottom, up to the top. I have always told my viewers that whatever they are going through, there is always light at the end of the tunnel, and charities like MIND are there anytime for a chat about anything, and they can supply advice both over the phone and in person. We raised a staggering £812.26 in just over 4 hours of streaming! Mega support from everybody, and all to a good cause!

The Lullaby Trust - £504.30

WorldFlight 2022 was a vibe, and we joined in on a few legs of the journey in November 2022. We was supporting The Lullaby Trust which is a charity who supports and aims to prevent unexpected deaths in infancy and promote infant health across the UK. The whole flight simulator community came together to support this charity that was being backed by SimFest.

ICRR (Irish Community Rapid Response) - £160.59

In December 2020, VATeir hosted a 24h event dedicated to the ICRR. The ICRR was an Irish charity that paid for the Air Ambulance across Ireland, and have since been closed and moved over to the ‘Irish Community Air Ambulance’. This was amid covid-times and when my community was starting to grow. Every donation helped, and we had young people asking their parents to chip across some of their pocket money to this charity, which was so heart-warming to see from the younger generation.
